Last night was the first time I have been to a Bachman’s Idea House and it was so much better than what I thought it would be. What took me so long? I am a fan of Ki Nassauer (original Junkmarket owner) who is the Vintage Consultant for the house. I was excited to see...
The new movie “Tangled: the Story of Rapunzel” could have your little girl begging for a fairy tale room to call her own. This princess bed is pretty stunning. But the room’s green walls and window treatments can still transition to another style as the little girl grows up. This room combines traditional pink with...
It’s employees like Beth at Hirshfields in Woodbury that keep our customers coming back! Thanks Paul and Jean for the nice note, and thanks Beth for your outstanding service! Hello, Starting in September, my husband and I spent 6 weeks trying to find the kind of Roman shades we wanted from Hunter Douglas. We spoke...
So you have a treadmill, but you currently get more of a workout schlepping it from one end of the room to the other so you can vacuum under it than you do actually walking on it. And you have a weight bench, but you’ve found that it is put to much better use as...

One of the biggest projects expectant parents tackle is getting...
This Friday’s find(s) is/are yet to be found. My time goeth before this Fall’s first rain in the Twin Cities. And The Shed my husband is working on this morning requires the finishing touches of my paint brush before tomorrow’s precipitation. (DECORATOR’S NOTE: We pre-finished all the plywood and trim pieces before construction with Hirshfield’s...
Carefree Spirit of Wallpaper Have you been entertaining thoughts of wallpapering? Just a little? Take a look at Thibaut’s new book Avalon. Thibaut’s designers did a great job coloring the patterns, making all the patterns in the book very user-friendly. My two favorites are the Popsicle colors of the Waterbury pattern and the Vancouver...
Take a look around and you will see that summer flip-flops and tank tops have been stored away in favor of fall boots and sweaters. And just as fashion changes with each season, so does design. The light colors and fabrics of summer don’t necessarily translate into fall décor, but don’t think you have to...
