Last night was the first time I have been to a Bachman’s Idea House and it was so much better than what I thought it would be. What took me so long?
I am a fan of Ki Nassauer (original Junkmarket owner) who is the Vintage Consultant for the house. I was excited to see what the “junk whisperer” had in store for us. Also, Hirshfield’s provided paint and wallpaper and I was curious to see what colors were picked for the Holiday Idea House 2010.
Here is one view of the decked out living room. This room looks so good, but my photos do not do it justice. The paint color is 0478 Singing in the Rain. I consider it a chameleon color as it can go green or blue. Garage Sale Gal has a great photo of the Christmas tree in the living room. The striped ornaments on the tree are the inspiration for the colors used throughout the house.
Vintage casserole holders, an old frame and wallpaper, make this wall one of the focal points in the dining room. H’s paint colors 0568 Cloudy Today, Frame is 0570 Grey Locks, and wallpaper is from the Verve book.
Aprons used as supply holders, broom handles as curtain rods, and curtain rods made into gift wrap holders. The valance constructed out of a sewing pattern totally rocks. This lively space is aptly named the gift wrap and sewing room. H’s paint colors 0007 Cottonball, 0008 Casa Blanca, and Plunge 0701.
We are not a hockey family, so furniture made out of hockey sticks is brand new to me. Sticks, jerseys, pucks, and skates all repurposed in this boy’s room. The pegboard running around the room is the icing on the cake for me. This is a good-looking room. H’s paint colors 0273 Sandstorm Palette and Siren 1117.
There are a total of 15 spaces designed with the special Bachman’s touch of new and vintage. The lovely smell of fresh lilies floats through the upstairs with magnificent arrangements placed through the home. Gather inspiration and ideas to freshen up your home for the holidays.
