If you’ve shied away from wallpaper in the past because you were worried about the paste and the mess, York has a paper for you. And if you avoid wallpaper because you hate trying to take it down later – you’ll like it even better. Prepasted wallcoverings aren’t new, but York’s Sure Strip® goes one step further. This high-performance paper is prepasted to go up easily and come down in one piece – guaranteed.
York says Sure Strip® wallcoverings are easier to install and easier to remove, because they are manufactured with a unique, high-performance substrate and special adhesive. When wet, the high-performance material acts more like a large sticker than an old-fashioned wallpaper. It smooths effortlessly on the wall and removes in full strips when it’s time to redecorate.
Sure Strip® is available in many of York’s most popular collections, from Disney to Waverly and everything in between – even Joanna Homes Magnolia Home wallpaper books.
Application is so simple, all you need is water, a tape measure, scissors, utility knife, smoother, pen or pencil, bucket and sponge, and a level. And the paper goes up in 8 easy steps:
- Measure and cut the strip to fit the wall.
- Moisten the back to activate the adhesive.
- Fold the paper together, paste-to-paste.
- Allow 2-3 minutes for the wallpaper to relax.
- Then position the cut strip on the wall.
- Slide the wallpaper into place.
- Set it with the smoothing tool.
- Trim the excess from floors, ceilings, doors, and windows.
When it comes time to redecorate, it’s even easier. You simply spray the wallpaper with water, wait one minute, loosen the top corners, and then pull straight down. York says Sure Strip® is specially made to come off that easily. In fact, York guarantees complete removal.
Suddenly, changing wallpaper as your kids become older doesn’t seem nearly as challenging, does it?
