Design Ideas From Parade of Homes and Remodeler Showcase
The Annual Parade of Homes showcase is an ideal way to find a builder or remodeler with the sensibilities and quality you desire. But it’s also a great way to see what’s in vogue in interiors, with each home in the parade showcasing the paint colors and finishes popular with top designers.
Highmark Builders showcased Hirshfield’s paints throughout this gorgeous home (4344 Oakdale Ave. South, Edina).
Open concept does not mean solid color. Here, there are multiple neutrals in the wall paint of three “rooms” that flow together. A unique feature is the stained wood ceiling treatment which anchors the dining area as distinct in the midst of a large space.
Subway tile continues to be a go-to solution for classic kitchens. Notice the drop down sheet of granite as a bold finish for the island. A warm, neutral paint tone drawn from the stone ties the room together.
Wallpaper can add the perfect controlled point of interest in a room and a headboard wall is an obvious choice to feature your favorite wallpaper.
Wallpaper can also add flair when used in an accent wall. This vining floral provides interest in the midst of a field of neutral palettes found in the furniture and accessories of the Owner’s Suite (we used to call it a Master Suite) in the Dream Home at 3748 Calhoun Parkway.
It costs $5 to tour a Dream Home. This money goes to the BATC Foundation (Builders Association of the Twin Cities) which builds and remodels homes for area families in need.
