Bits & Pieces: Boys’ Bedroom in Chelsea Gray

Holly Bender Interiors

I’ve been ruminating about this room since I first laid eyes on it. No bells, whistles, or gimmicks, and I’m still in love with it!

I asked Becky (Hirshfield’s Design Studio) to tell me what makes this room work? Here’s her take on why this room is so fabulous:

  • the combination of patterns do a good job of playing off each other
  • shades of gray work with the black and white
  • woodwork painted white makes for nice contrast against the walls and ceiling
  • the room is balanced with the window treatments so it doesn’t look bottom-heavy with the two beds

Holly Bender is the “creative” behind this room and Scott Hargis the photographer. Scott had this to say about Holly’s work…I work with many interior designers, but Holly’s work stands out because it’s so complete. There are never any discordant notes that have to be avoided or “fixed” later – every room she does is perfect, from top to bottom…

Holly’s paint palette for the rest of this stylish home consists of Benjamin Moore’s Gray Huskie, Stone Hearth, Balboa Mist, and Cumulus Cloud. To see more of this talented designer’s work click on this link and enjoy the tour.
