Two homes…One ticket…

The Edgewater project

Located in the northeast corner of Lake Calhoun, is the first ASID Showcase Home condo. The Edgewater is a 22-unit luxury condominium building. The Showcase condo is  2,230 sf  of luxury living.

Approximately six blocks away is the LAKE OF THE ISLES HOME, owned by Dan Buettner, author of the book Blue Zone and boyfriend of Cheryl Tiegs. Buettner asked all designers to incorporate facets of the Blue Zone principals he abides by, into his home.

The ASID Showcase Home is a collaboration of the American Society of Interior Designers and Mpls./St.Paul Magazine, showcasing fantastic interior design in both of these projects. This year’s event opens on Saturday May 15 and runs through Sunday, June 13, 2010. Public self – guided tours are available from Wednesdays thru Sundays.

Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the Junior League of Minneapolis, the Jeremiah Program, Cornerstone, and Second Harvest Heartland. Tickets on sale at Hirshfield’s locations $15 – at the door $20.

Make certain to check out this luxuriant wall color. It’s Pashmina, a favorite of Kathy Basil’s from the design studio, and is used in a few of the rooms.  Paint donated by Benjamin Moore and Hirshfield’s.
