René is a reproduction of a wallpaper from the 1920’s and is named after French decorative artist and designer René Gabriel.

Decorative patterns include peacocks, flower motifs, and S-curves—all influenced by the strong visual and graphic arts and design movement that occurred at the turn of the 20th century.

Ebru fabric from Thibaut
This design is called “Ebru” and the name originates from Turkey and stands for a marbling technique invented in the thirteenth century. Offered in four colorways and available in fabric (shown on the chair) and wallcovering.

Parada fabric

The design for Parada is hand-printed on a cotton ground and then sewn using a technique called pintuck to create the diamond shapes.

 

Established in 1886, Thibaut (pronounced Tee-Bo) is the nation’s oldest continuously operating wallpaper firm. In addition to their stylish print books they offer a number of fabric-backed vinyl wallpaper books.  We’re looking forward to their new 54″ vinyl collection Greg and Kathy (Hirshfield’s Design Resource) saw at High Point Market and both said it was a winner!
