After a 400-day deployment, a Minnesota soldier will return home to find his house in much better shape than he left behind. And we’re proud to tell you how Hirshfield’s was able to help.
The St. Paul Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Network identified a family that needed help and Hirshfield’s was happy to team up with Protect Painters of Twin Cities, North Metro Minneapolis & Saint Paul to provide it.
ProTect Painters owner Del Simonson is a retired Army veteran, and you might say he “enlisted” Hirshfield’s to help with the house — which was badly in need of repainting.
The service member broke his leg prior to his deployment, so he just couldn’t get the house ready properly for his family — which would have included repainting the peeling exterior. And his wife, with two young children under the age of ten, had her hands full. She simply couldn’t stay on top of the basic upkeep around the home when he was gone.
That’s where ProTect Painters and Hirshfield’s stepped in. Hirshfield’s Colorist Mark Masica created the color scheme for the makeover and Mark Franz, Hirshfield’s Painter Maintenance, coordinated the product specification.
“I used the roof and foundation of the home as my inspiration for using a mid-tone gray for the body,” said Masica. “It is done in Hirshfield’s 0542 Captain Nemo and the warm off-white trim is Hirshfield’s 0018 Dove White.”
The house was in bad shape and Mark Franz specified XIM Peel Bond and Hirshfield’s Housecoat, a 100% acrylic flat paint on the home. It’s made in Minnesota and designed for our climate, so we hope the returning soldier and his family enjoy it for many years to come.
