Farrow & Ball at Hirshfield’s Edina

 Farrow & Ball Tinting Machine

Hirshfield’s Edina store has a new tinting machine. Usually not a big deal, except to the store associates, but this is a Farrow & Ball tinting machine which means our Edina staff can now tint Farrow & Ball paint at their store. The paint bases used for in-can tinting are created at the Farrow & Ball factory in Dorset, England, and use exactly the same balance of high-quality ingredients as ready-mixed Farrow & Ball paints. The brand does have a bit of a cult following when it comes to their color palette. People who use Farrow & Ball paints, consistently talk about the depth and richness of their colors which Farrow & Ball says is due to their use of the highest quality ingredients – that will not change with tinting at the store level.

A little Farrow & Ball history

Farrow & Ball paints are born and bred in Dorset, England, since 1946. Founders John Farrow and Richard Ball were passionate about creating richly pigmented paint using age-old methods and it’s a passion that is matched by their craftsmen today. All finishes are water-based, quick drying, and low in odor and VOC’s. Fast forward, today Farrow & Ball distributes its paints and wallpapers to 67 countries around the world including Edina, Minnesota.

Cromarty Farrow and Ball Paint
Inspired by swirling sea mist, and named after the Cromarty Firth estuary, a place mentioned daily in The Shipping Forecast. This color brings a muted softness to any room. A lighter version of Mizzle, it works beautifully when paired with Light Blue, or grouped with Blue Gray and Pigeon.
