Color of the Year 2026

Fall is the season when national paint brands unveil their “Color of the Year” and it’s always an exciting time for those of us in the paint world. And now, drum roll please… from Benjamin Moore and their 3,500 hues, they have selected Silhouette AF-655 as their 2026 Color of the Year.

“Silhouette embodies a renewed interest in suiting and classic silhouettes, the resurgence of timeless pieces, and a growing appreciation for the brown color family—rich with depth and a luxurious blend of burnt umber and delicate charcoal undertones,” says Andrea Magno, color marketing and development director at Benjamin Moore, “this distinctive hue brings chic style to the Color Trends 2026 palette and elegance to any space. We like Architectural Digest’s description of Silhouette as, “dusty brown’s cool older sister.”

Balanced by two distinct groupings—enchanting pales and handsome midtones — the Benjamin Moore Color Trends 2026 palette signals a return to timeless classics and thoughtful attention to detail. Drawing on insights from consumer behavior and global influences in art and design, Benjamin Moore designers spend countless hours choosing the colors that you’ll see time and again in the year ahead. Choosing a Color of the Year

“The connection between fashion and interiors has always been a source of inspiration but this year in particular, we’ve noticed a renewed interest in suiting and classic silhouettes; the resurgence of timeless pieces; and the growing interest in the brown color family,” Magno said in a press release. “Silhouette embodies these qualities with its depth and luxurious blend of burnt umber and delicate charcoal undertones.”

Tips on Where to Use Silhouette

The 2026 palette invites creativity in pairing, contrast, and continuity. Below are some design tips to help bring these colors to life.

  • Accent Walls That Speak Volumes — Use Silhouette for a commanding focal wall, then soften with lighter tones.
  • Trim, Doors & Millwork — Create contrast with crisp whites and natural wood.
  • Layered Neutrals + Color Pops — Pair the Color Trends 2026 hues using Silhouette as their anchor.
  • Kitchens, Baths & Built-ins — Dark cabinetry in Silhouette against lighter countertops and backsplashes. We love the drama.

A color that lends itself to both modern and traditional styles–Silhouette AF-655 will take your space from expected to exceptional!
