Tell us a little about yourself:

I started my paint career in 1975 at my father’s hardware store while I finished high school. After high school while attending college I painted for a local house painter painting new constructed homes. In 1979 I started my career with Hirshfield’s as a part time store clerk at the Ridgedale store. I went to work for Fuller O’Brien paints in the local warehouse suppling paint to Hirshfield’s along with the other dealers in the Midwest and continued my part time sales with Hirshfield’s. In 1985 I moved to Indiana as a dealer sales representative for Fuller O’Brien. I returned to Minnesota in 1987 as a dealer representative in Minnesota eventually taking over the sales duties for the Hirshfield account. In 1994 I took a job with Hirshfield’s managing the new store in St. Cloud along with the task of growing the Hirshfield’s presence in northern Minnesota. I am currently the District Manager of Northern Minnesota, product manager of our wood division and some contractor sales duties in my region.

I take pride in my contribution to Hirshfield’s and enjoying the success of working for a fourth generation family owned company, not many companies of any kind can make that claim. We have our own paint plant making quality products and special products that fit our customer’s needs. We offer our customers diversified lines of coatings and products that help make them successful. It’s been so rewarding to work for Hirshfield’s that two of my boys are making the careers with Hirshfield’s.
