Friday Finds: Bachman’s Holiday Ideas House 2012

Bachman's Holiday Ideas House 2012

Introducing our glamorous take on the rustic lodge. Get ready for an “alpine chic” touch on 100s of creative home decor and entertaining ideas for the holidays. Think “cozy, up-north cabin meets big city bling” as you tour this year’s Holiday Ideas House.

The Bachman’s Holiday House has tons of great ideas to inspire you. Freshen up your home for the holiday season! On this tour, we’re starting on the second floor and working our way down to the main level.

Headboard is made from a cabinet (already sold) and a vintage table. Valances are wrapped in yarn. Chandelier made from painted plastic water bottles.

The bumped-out wall is covered in furry blankets.

Sheet music graces the bathroom walls, and a re-purposed ladder, toolbox, and piece of salvaged wood add the finishing touches.

A hand painted family tree with hanging frame ornaments and the arched vintage window used as a headboard, are my master bedroom favorites.

Boy’s room done up in a basketball theme. Different Strokes Painting did a great job on the painted striped wall.

This media unit is made from old lockers, wood, and pipes and the footprint of this media unit is nice and compact, perfect for smaller rooms.

Fireplace and mantel all decked out for the holiday season.

Hand-painted grandfather clock

The wine bar made from a vintage luggage cart is one of the focal points in the sun room.

Antlers used on the wall, as drapery finials, and chandelier accents.

Behind that vintage black and white photo is a wall-mounted TV.  Love the wallpaper. A subtle, good looking plaid that feels like Ralph Lauren in design and color, but at a better price point. A fondness for wallpaper and the on-trend plaid design warmed the cockles of my Scottish heart.

Props to the design team. What did you think? I found myself sitting up and taking notice of all the antlers adorning the many gorgeous floral arrangements.
