REcore Recycled Wall Technology.

Introducing a new and innovative product structure to our family of eco-friendly wallcoverings. REcore Recycled Wall Technology is the latest introduction to OMNOVA's commitment to develop environmentally focused products for the contract interiors industry. REcore joins ECORE Advanced Wall Technology, an eco-focused technology platform featuring non-PVC, breathable construction. The REcore recycling technology is being integrated into all future Essex and Tower wallcovering designs.

REcore "best of class" recycled wallcovering technology diverts waste from landfills while contributing to LEED credits. REcore is comprised of 30% recycled content including a minimum of 20% post consumer recycled content. REcore is Low VOC emitting and GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified®.

Recycled Content

Reducing the use of virgin materials in the production of commercial wallcoverings is integral to our focus on the environment. Essex and Tower wallcoverings made with REcore Recycled Wall Technology have 30% recycled content. With a guaranteed minimum of 20% post-consumer waste, Essex and Tower are making a difference with diverting not only used wallcovering from the landfill, but also consumer level "trash."

The use of Essex and Tower wallcoverings with REcore with its high percentage of post-consumer recycled content is a smart strategy for both LEED projects and the environment. In addition to the minimum 20% post-consumer content, REcore wallcoverings contain an average of 10% post-industrial content. This includes construction trim, bindery scraps, obsolete inventory and sample material as well as other miscellaneous sources.

Recyclable

Essex and Tower wallcoverings featuring REcore Recycled Wall Technology are 100% post-consumber recyclable. Construction waste, as well as after-use material, can be returned to OMNOVA for recycling back into wallcovering and other building products as part of the OMNOVA Reclamation Program. Indoor Air Quality

Wallcoverings manufactured with REcore Recycled Wall TEchnology products have been tested for their chemical emissions performance and re low VOC emitting. Over 90% of Essex and Tower wallcoverings -- including those with REcore Recycled Wall Technology -- are GREENGUARD Certified for their low VOC emissions.

LEED Points

Essex and Tower wallcoverings featuring REcore Recycled Wall Technology can be used with the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system for both new construction (LEED-NC) and commercial interior (LEED-CI) projects. It is important to note that these wallcoverings don not, nor does any other construction material, carry their own LEED rating. However, the use of Essex or Tower with REcore recycled wallcoverings can contribute towards us to six LEED points in the following categories:

Durable with Long Life Cycle

Specifying and maintaining durable products that perform exceptionally well throughout their service life and last longer than paint is also part of a sustainabilityt strategy. When Essex and Tower wallcoverings remain on the wall for an extended period of time, less energy is used, fewer raw materials are consumed and less waste is generated. Specifying these wallcoverings yield both reduced environmental impact and life-cycle costs.

REcore based wallcoverings deliver the same levels of performance as other Type II wallcoverings. Designed to last longer than the décor, they meet or exceed the requirements of CCC-W-408A and with CFFA-W-101-D. They are stain resistant, washable and scrubbable. They exceed the Gardner Scrubbability Test ASTM D 2486 and have been tested to 5,000 cycles using a cleaning solution with no damage to finish or print.

Eco-Friendly Packaging

REcore based wallcoverings are packaged in convenient 30 yard rolls using 100% recycled cores. All package waste can be diverted from the waste stream and be recycled through traditional community recycling stations.

Safety and Fire Protection

Wallcoverings made with REcore Recycled Wall Technology meet or exceed Class A wallcovering requirements. They carry the NFPA 101 and IBC Class A interior wall and finish rating when tested using ASTM-E84 method on Type X gypsum board and when tested in accordance with NFPA 286.
